Automation Engineer – Experienced (Cork)

We integrate high availability, fault-tolerant and functionally safe PLC and SCADA solutions that transform our customer’s business and manufacturing processes.
We are currently seeking an Experienced (5+ years) Automation Engineer to join our expanding team in Cork. The successful candidate will be a technical expert engaged in the development, testing and commissioning of leading-edge industrial automation solutions.

Primary Responsibilities/ Duties
- Manage complex automation projects from design to commissioning for blue-chip Food & Beverage and Pharma customers.
- Manage the relationship with the customer and all stakeholders.
- Track and report on project progress to the NeoDyne management team.
- Support the training and ongoing development of junior automation engineers.
- Design, develop, and implement software/hardware improvements to existing and new equipment according to change control procedures.
- Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on PLCs (Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Siemens and Schneider).
- Production of I/O schedules.
- Author or update system specifications, user and functional design specifications, generating FAT and SAT protocols.
- Develop and edit engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment while following GAMP 5 guidelines.
- Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA).
- Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematics.
- Commission control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systems.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in automation and Industry 4.0 through seminars, events and research.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering, Automation/Mechatronics or allied discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCs essential
- Experience with Siemens or Schneider PLCs desirable
- Experience with AVEVA, Rockwell Allen-Bradley or Siemens SCADA solutions
- Experience with Device Networks (Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
- Experience with and knowledge of GAMP
