Automation Project Manager (Cork)

We are currently recruiting an Automation Project Manager to own and manage the delivery of automation projects, predominately in the Life Science and Food & Beverage sectors.

We are seeking candidates with 7 or more years’ experience in validated automation systems in Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage manufacturing, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, or Manufacturing Execution Systems. This role would also suit an experienced automation engineer looking to progress their career into project management. The successful candidate will work closely with an associate director to manage project delivery and contribute to business strategy.

While our preference is for the candidate to be based in Cork, we will also consider applications for our Galway, Dublin, or Waterford offices.

This role is a full-time staff position with an excellent salary and benefits package. Full project management training will also be provided as part of the package (PMP Certification).

Responsibilities/ Duties

  • Assuming overall responsibility (commercial and technical) for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, control, and closure of automation projects.
  • Managing automation teams to deliver projects to customer sites.
  • Co-ordinating and supporting project commissioning activities.
  • Scoping and pricing new projects and services.
  • Managing project controls, including quality and commercial.
  • Working closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through automation and data analytics technology.
  • Liaising with an associate director to manage project delivery as well as contributing to business strategy.
  • Working with other NeoDyne business units to identify opportunities, including MES and OT Cybersecurity.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience

  • Experienced automation engineer with 7 or more years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
  • Experience in the delivery of automated systems in addition to a working knowledge of the GAMP software development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Leadership/ People Management skills.
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated business / technical challenges in a simplified manner to our customers.
