Electrical Engineers – Graduate/Junior (Cork, Dublin, Galway, UK)
Within our Transmission & Distribution team, we design AIS/GIS substations from 20kV to 220kV and contestable build and non-contestable stations in the range of 40 to 550MVA CCGT. Connections include conventional and renewable Power Generation, Peaking, Battery Storage, DS3 and Solar PV plants and large demand loads such as data centres and process plants. We use leading-edge design and modelling tools from global technology companies to deliver innovative designs for our customers.
NeoDyne is also a gas network design framework supplier, providing electrical and instrumentation engineering services to the on-shore Natural Gas Industry and Regulated gas utility sector in Ireland and the UK. We are heavily involved in the design and integration of renewable gas and hydrogen onto the grid, CO2 capture, rollout of Biomethane injection facilities and CNG fuel filling stations.
We are currently seeking graduate/junior (0-2 years+) electrical engineers to join our expanding teams in Ireland and the UK. Experience with MV/HV plant engineering, substation design, distribution networks, switchgear or control and protection systems would be highly desirable but not essential as we will provide full training.

Primary Responsibilities/ Duties
Depending on role and experience, responsibilities include:
- HV & MV Substation Design including, Primary Plant Electrical Layouts, Control & Protection Design, Electrical Power System Studies, Earth Grid Design & LV Distribution and General Services Design
- Requirements specification for various electrical equipment and assemblies (transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers etc.)
- Designing industrial LV & MV networks, including SLDs, cable sizing and routing, protection coordination etc.
- Carrying out Power Systems Electrical Studies (Load Flow, Reactive Power Capability, Short Circuit Studies, Protection Coordination)
- Electrical Protection System design, implementation, testing and support.
- Designing control and protection panels and creation of panel wiring schematics.
- Commissioning of control and protection systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning.
- Hazardous area Electrical and Instrumentation design
- Design and specification for Gas Station control systems
- Design and specification of Fiscal Gas Metering systems including Gas Quality analysis.
- Earthing Design for the Hazardous area.
Qualifications, Skills/ Experience
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Experience in the following would be advantageous but not essential:
- Developing C&P Electrical Schematics using AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar
- Developing equipment layouts using AutoCAD, Primtech or similar
- Electrical Power Systems Study software such as ERACS, ETAP, SKM or similar
- LV System modelling using Amtech
