Lead MES Engineer (Cork)

We are currently recruiting a Lead Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Engineer to lead development and system integration activities at one of our customer sites, a global Food and Beverage manufacturer.
As an endorsed AVEVA system integrator, we are seeking candidates with 3 or more years’ experience in AVEVA products, including AVEVA MES, System Platform, InTouch, Batch Management, Historian, or Skelta BPM.
The role is a full-time staff position with an excellent salary and benefits package. The candidate can be based in Cork, Ireland or Chesterfield, UK.
Responsibilities/ Duties
- Assuming lead MES technical project role, including leading the build, configuration, validation, and delivery of cutting-edge MES systems.
- Liaising with our customers to gather and translate project and process improvement requirements into functional design and detailed design documentation.
- Database design and development in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
- UX design and development in Angular, C#, Javascript, and ASP.Net Core.
- Production reporting design and development in AVEVA Historian and AVEVA PI System.
- Providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.
- Co-ordinating and supporting project commissioning activities.
- Enforcing technical and project execution best practices.
- Mentoring and training of junior engineers.
- Working closely with customers to identify areas for process improvement through automation and data analytics technology.
- Researching new technologies and trends in Industrial Automation.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience
- Experienced MES engineer with 3 or more years’ experience in AVEVA (Wonderware) products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
- Database design and development experience in Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
- UX design and development experience in Angular, C#, Javascript and/or ASP.Net Core.
- Web programming experience; including JavaScript, CSS, JSON, JQuery, Web API, HTML5 and/or REST API.
- Report Writing experience in AVEVA Historian, AVEVA PI System or similar.
- PLC Programming/HMI/SCADA experience desirable: Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, etc.
- Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Food and Beverage or Pharma manufacturing environment.
