Process Automation Engineer – Experienced (Dublin)
We are currently recruiting an experienced Process Automation Engineer to support automation systems and aid process improvement initiatives at one of our customer sites, a leading Life Science manufacturer in North Dublin. We are seeking candidates with 3+ years’ experience in validated Automation systems in Pharma manufacturing, PLC programming (Rockwell Allen Bradley or Siemens), HMI/SCADA (Rockwell FactoryTalk, AVEVA and WinCC) .
This role is a full-time staff position with an excellent salary and offers exciting opportunities to work with leading-edge technologies on an existing and a planned new facility.
Primary Responsibilities/ Duties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the introduction of new vendor systems on site by performing engineering assessments and implementing automation system configuration changes.
- Reviewing and assessing vendor documentation (design specifications, FAT/IQ/OQ test protocols) and deliverables (PLC/SCADA applications).
- Maintaining Functional Specifications to reflect the operational parameters of the automation systems.
- Ensuring all new automation systems are tested and in line with site standards prior to implementation.
- Change control for system modifications and new projects.
- Performing all duties in accordance with GMP requirements, SOPs and controlled documents.
- Liaising with customers and the project design team to develop control system design specifications.
- Control system design for industrial automation equipment from concept stage.
- Selecting and managing automation contractors through the project life cycle.
- Keeping up to date with the latest automation technology trends.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience
Essential experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering, Automation/Mechatronics, Computer Science or allied discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with Rockwell Allen Bradley PLCs and Rockwell FactoryTalk View Se/ME.
- Experience with and knowledge of GAMP.
- Good working knowledge of the ISA88 standards.
Desired experience:
- Experience with Siemens PLCs and WinCC SCADA
- Experience with Device Networks (Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
- VMware vSphere installation and maintenance
- CISCO networking experience
- Rockwell PlantPAx experience
- MES systems experience
