Site Automation Lead
We are currently recruiting a Site Automation Lead to support production processes and lead process improvement automation projects at one of our customer sites, a leading pharmaceutical plant in Cork. We are seeking candidates with 3-5 years’ experience in validated Automation systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA or Manufacturing Execution Systems. As Site Automation Lead, you will lead cross-functional teams on-site and partner with stakeholders, team members and vendors to test and deploy our leading-edge automation products and solutions.
A background in Pharmaceutical processes, GAMP 5 and experience with AVEVA (Wonderware) products would be a distinct advantage but not essential as we will provide full training. This role is a full-time staff position with an excellent salary and offers an exciting opportunity to work with a leading-edge manufacturer in bulk pharmaceuticals.
Primary Responsibilities/ Duties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading/ Project managing all phases of automation engineering projects on site
- Working closely with automation contractors delivering projects to site
- Programming, diagnosing and troubleshooting PLC and SCADA applications
- Developing and implementing automation solutions through change control
- Developing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment and following GAMP 5 guidelines
- Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systems
- Providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments
- Supporting project commissioning activities
- Providing out of hours 24/7 on-call support
Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience
- Experienced automation engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
- PLC Programming Experience: Siemens TIA Portal / Mitsubishi Q-Series PLCs / GX Works
- HMI / SCADA Experience: AVEVA / Wonderware InTouch / Historian
- Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring
- Experience with control networks and communications systems
- Experience working with validated Automation systems in the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
